D-Day Beaches and Giverny

On day two of vacation we drove to some of the different D-day sites.  We went to the Airborne museum, and to Pointe-Du-Hok, and the American Cemetary/memorial.  It was a really sobering day.  I was really moved by seeing these sites as a teenager when my family came to France.  I wanted Marcus to see them and have the experience as well.  Surprisingly Hailey seemed really moved by it.  She asked a ton of questions, and spent a lot of time in the cemetry reading the names of the soilders who died during the war.  It's incredible to think of the sacrifice that happened during that war.  It was a very different day than our first day of vacation, but also a really good one.

After our D-Day site seeing we stayed in a town called Caen that put us a little closer to Paris.  We woke up the next morning and drove to Giverny to see Monet's gardens before dropping the car off in Paris and doing some site seeing there.

Giverny is also a super charming town!  We toured Monet's home and Gardens.  The gardens especially are super beautiful.  Hailey asked to take a picture with just about every flower in the garden I think.  ;)  Giverny was the perfect pick me up from a fairly heavy 2nd day.
