Barcelona!!!

 Our trip to Barcelona couldn't have come at a better time.  We were all in need of a get away.  We went over Easter weekend, and it was such a cool trip.  First off we rode first class on the train out there, only because there were no other tickets available, and our train cart was completely empty.  We really felt like we were living luxuriously!  It was a nice way to travel, coming back in the regular tourista seats felt like a big downgrade! ;)

Barcelona, with all of it's Gaudi architecture, is such a unique city.  We stayed in a great apartment on Calle Diagonal, and we had a great time seeing some beautiful things.   At the top of our list was of course seeing the Sagrada Familia.  We also went to the Picasso museum (really cool), the beach, walked around the Olympic grounds, did the tour bus, and went to the aquarium.  We also ate some delicious things!  Barcelona has some fantastic restaurants.  Then we wrapped up our trip Easter morning with an egg hunt in our apartment.

I would love to go back to Barcelona again.  I feel like there is A TON to see here, and it's much more spread out than Madrid, so it take a little more time to see everything.  It's a beautiful place, and I'm so happy we had the opportunity to go.

 The View from our apartment.  I book everything online, and I'm not always exactly sure how it will turn out.  We've had some hits and misses.  According to Marc I hit this one out of the park.  Other than an exceptionally tiny elevator it was an awesome place to stay, perfect for our family.

 We spent a lot of time admiring Gaudi's works.  The apartment we stayed in actually had great views, and we even had a rooftop view of this Gaudi building.

 The interior of the Sagrada Familia was just as impressive as the exterior.  They had the most beautiful stained glass.

 The girls loved the beach.  Avery got wiped out by a wave on one of our last trips to the beach, and so she wanted to keep her distance, but Hailey was all about the water.

 This was Lucas's first trip to the beach, so we had to dip his toes in the water...he was not a fan!

 We ate some truly delicious food on this trip!  It's always fun to eat a great meal on the beach.  This was from a restaurant Marc's boss recommended called Agua, right on the beach.

 He looks like an angel in this picture, but Lucas wasn't always happy to just sit in the stroller while we saw sites and ate yummy food, so the girls had to demonstrate the proper way to talk.  ;)

 Easter morning we had a great egg hunt in our apartment.  The girls were super excited.  Then we packed up and headed back to Madrid.  While I joked that going back to tourists after traveling alone in first class was hard, it is always great to travel by train.  It's so quick and so nice.  We love the AVE!
