Sevilla

After a couple days in Cordoba we got on the train and headed to Sevilla.  Sevilla was a beautiful city.  There were so many cool sites here, the streets were beautiful, and we had a great time exploring.

 Plaza de Espana.

I love that they do these Christmas lights everywhere in Spain.  It was so fun to walk around and see all the different lights on each street.

The cathedral in Sevilla was super impressive.
Sevilla and Cordoba have tons of orange trees everywhere.  The story we were told  by our host in Cordoba was that the king had the orange trees planted for his bride who was from a more mountainous area and missed the snow in winter.  So, he had orange trees planted all over because when they bloom in the spring their blossoms are white and it made the city look like it was covered in snow.

The oranges are actually super sour and pretty gross to eat, but the trees are really pretty.

The Tomb of Christopher Columbus, inside the cathedral.
A view from one of the tower windows.
The Alcazar here was really amazing.  When I was reading about this place many people compared the architecture here to the Alhambra in Granada.  It really is beautiful.

Kims caught this gem of Marc in the Alcazar bath house.  Haha.  Very romantic.
With Christmas only a couple days away we decided to take the Christmas train from one Christmas market to another.  The girls each got to choose one ride.  Hailey chose this pirate ship swing, and had the time of her life sword fighting with the guy running the ride who was pushing her in it.

Ave's chose the train, and also had a fantastic time.

We enjoyed our fair share of treats.  The top of our list were the gofres and bunuelos (waffles and donuts).  Marc and Kims would often break into song, "bunuelos, I love you!"  Super funny.

We are so happy we got to take this trip, and SO SO happy Kimba was here to do it with us.

  1. I'm so jealous! I want to pose for pics in front of bathhouses and sing about waffles and donuts. Best trip ever!
