Grandma Jacque in Madrid

My mom made a trip out to visit us the first week of February.  Despite it being rainy, and Hailey getting sick, we still had a lot of fun.  We loved having her here to keep us company.  It was also great to be able to show a family member what we've been raving about.  We are so happy she came. 

 While we were in Madrid we tried to spend our dry days seeing sights and enjoying the park.  I think my mom enjoyed Retiro Park as much as we do.  We had a great time showing her around some of our favorite spots in the park.  The girls were thrilled to show her some of their favorite things.  It was a lot of fun.

We lucked out and got to have my mom here for her birthday.  We spent her birthday out exploring Segovia, but made it home in time for some cake and ice cream.  Later in the week, as her birthday present, we took her to a Flamenco show.

Even though she was the one who had a birthday she came bearing gifts.  Avery was over the moon about her new stuffed dog Cola, and baby dog Annie. 

 We enjoyed some Jamon Bocadillas at the Mercado de San Miguel.

 We went on a walk to see the Cathedral and Royal Palace.

 And we of course had to take her to El Corte Ingles, for a little taste of what our shopping is like here, and a carousel ride for the girls.

I'm so happy she came.  It was so fun to have her here with us.  Unfortunately we now have to wait another 6 months before we do it again.  Hopefully the weather and our health will be more cooperative in August.  ;)  We can't wait!
